WITH AN internship AT IME

GET AHEAD OF YOUR PEERS WITH AN INTERNSHIP

Our paid Summer Internship Program gives students hands-on experience inside a real electrical construction business — the kind of work that keeps airports moving, hospitals running, data centers powered, buildings connected, and communities growing.

You’ll learn from experienced project teams, visit active job sites, support real work, and see how planning, estimating, safety, technology, field operations, and project delivery come together from preconstruction to power on.

This is not a “sit in a corner and make coffee” internship. This is your chance to understand how complex construction actually happens — and where you might fit in.

What you'll experience

Every internship is shaped by current business needs, active projects, and your area of study or interest. Depending on your role and location, you may intern in:

Project Management

Support project teams with documentation, coordination, schedules, drawings, meetings, and day-to-day project activity.

Preconstruction & Estimating

Learn how opportunities are evaluated, priced, planned, and prepared before work begins in the field.

Field Operations

See how electrical construction comes to life on site — from manpower planning and coordination to installation, quality, and safety.

BIM, VDC & Construction Technology

Explore how modeling, coordination, prefabrication, digital tools, and construction technology help teams plan smarter, solve problems earlier, and build more efficiently.

Safety

Understand how safety planning, communication, observation, and accountability protect our people and our projects.

Human Resources

Gain exposure to the people side of the business — from recruiting and onboarding to employee engagement, training, communications, and supporting a strong workplace culture.

Finance

Learn how finance supports the business behind the build — from project accounting and reporting to budgeting, cost tracking, billing, forecasting, and helping teams make informed decisions.

Marketing

Help tell the story of the work, the people, and the projects behind IME — from proposals and campaigns to social media, events, recruiting support, photography, content, and brand storytelling.
