Massive electrical renovation and expansion
This project involved the electrical design-build renovation and expansion of the existing Porter Hospital. Updates were made to the old electrical infrastructure including the CUP and the power supply to a wide range of the main hospital’s facilities. Some of the more challenging aspects of this job included: the cut over of the North Wing of the Hospital (including emergency rooms and ORs) in one night without disruption to the in-use hospital, and the relocation of the hospital’s transformer using a 450-ton crane.
Infrared scanning was used to create a point cloud of the existing spaces in order to understand the physical constraints and provide accurate cost estimates and alternative methods of procedure for shut-downs in order to reduce impact.
