Baggage Handling System at DEN

IME worked with United Airlines from 2018 to early 2020 on a new high-speed baggage handling system, designed to support the airline’s needs for the next 20 years. The project included the installation of 35,000 ft. of new conveyor and the replacement of 28 original makeup units.

Implementing this work required installing a completely new electrical distribution and controls system to serve 1,607 new conveyor motors and 3,377 monitoring and control devices. 

This new system allows United to accurately track, scan and sort baggage faster. IME’s 40 person team was able to complete the project 4 months ahead of schedule.
